Kabuki Ugly Duckling – Muny 1st Stage
The Japanese setting was a real stroke of imagination, creating an unexpected mood to a familiar story. It also allows Limber to experiment musically with an Asian mood – a nice change of pace for the young audience. The music, deliciously performed, is weirdly evocative of Stephen Sondheim. This might go right past the target audience but it is an unexpected plus for adults.

The Secret Garden – The Muny/Student Theatre Project Company
Much of the evening is undergirded by music Chris Limber has composed for the production. An impressive variety of instrumental color is created. It charmingly enriches the telling of the tale.
